Daleville Redevelopment Commission – Roles & Responsibilities

The Daleville Redevelopment Commission (RDC) is responsible for fostering economic growth, revitalizing underutilized areas, and supporting community development in alignment with Indiana Code IC 36-7-14. Appointed by the Town Council, RDC members oversee strategic investments that benefit the town’s long-term economic health and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan & Implement Redevelopment Projects
  Identify areas in need of revitalization and implement projects that improve infrastructure, promote business growth, and enhance public spaces.
• Manage TIF Districts
  Administer Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts, using captured tax revenues to fund eligible improvements such as roads, utilities, and site development.
• Support Economic Development
  Collaborate with developers, businesses, and community stakeholders to attract new investments, create jobs, and strengthen Daleville’s economic base.
• Steward Public Resources
  Ensure transparent and effective use of redevelopment funds in accordance with Indiana Code, with oversight of land acquisition, planning, and public-private partnerships.
• Public Accountability
  Conduct meetings open to the public, maintain records, and communicate progress on ongoing projects to ensure community awareness and involvement.

The Commission plays a vital role in shaping Daleville’s future by supporting smart growth and vibrant community development.
